Minnesota Wedding Venues – Some of The Coolest & Most Beautiful Options in Minneapolis – St. Paul

Selecting the proper wedding venue is one of the most important pieces in planning your wedding. It will affect everything from the theme of your wedding to your budget as well as determine how many guests you can invite. Not just any place will do. Here’s our list of some of our favorite Minnesota wedding venues that will hopefully spark some ideas and help take away some of your stress. So let’s check ‘em out (in no particular order)…
Minnesota Wedding Venues Near Minneapolis

1. The Gale Mansion
The Gale Mansion is a beautiful, historic mansion located just south of downtown Minneapolis. Built in 1912, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After an extensive renovation in 2010, the Gale Mansion offers an elegant ballroom equipped with a new audio/visual system, stage, dance floor and grand piano. The ballroom accommodates groups up to 190 people for a seated meal. For a more intimate setting, you can hold your event on the main floor of the mansion, which can accommodate up to 100 guests for a seated meal. Or choose a cocktail-style evening (i.e. no seated meal), which combines both floors of the mansion (up to 250 guests). Book this venue and get exclusive access to the mansion on your event date from noon to midnight. Gale Mansion also has on-site event planners, full-service caterers and serving staff to handle every detail of your event.

2. Aster Café
For a unique spot, the Aster Café is where it’s at. The Aster sits on one of the prettiest streets in Minneapolis, under the trees along the Mississippi river, and it guarantees skyline views. City Pages calls the Aster “the best place to go on a first date” and hails it as one of the most romantic places in Minneapolis, making it a wonderful and cozy place to have your wedding. The café has the best of all four seasons – the trees outside drop snow-like seeds in the spring, the summer offers a refreshing breeze off the river, the wood-burning stove is fired up in the fall, and the café is always warm and inviting in the winter. The Aster has bartenders, wait staff and food your family and friends will rave about. It has five spaces for you to pick from that can accommodate anywhere from 70 to 160.

3. American Swedish Institute
The American Swedish Institute offers spectacular indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings. This vibrant museum and cultural center is a Minnesota landmark and the Twin Cities’ only castle. Built in 1908, the ASI first served as a home to Swan and Christina Turnblad. With its magnificent wood carvings, elaborate Swedish tile stoves and 33 ornate rooms, the Turnblad Mansion rivaled the castles of the Old World. Now it can serve as a fairytale-like wedding venue. ASI's in-house catering and events team, Slate & Stone, is ready to help you personalize and plan the perfect celebration. Weather permitting, you can even dance the night away under the stars!
