Every year around this time (late March through May) we buy locally greenhouse grown Calla Lilies that are so perfect and amazing they barely seem real. These beauties seem to be made for photography, the camera loves them.

Why we love Amaryllis.

Amaryllis are one of the easiest most fun plants to grow. Get your self a bulb or two, some dirt or rocks, a waterproof container and your on your way! They seem to grow inches overnight and produce the most amazing huge "in your face" blossoms!

For a great contemporary look, fill a wide glass cylinder vase with polished black River Rock and plop in a Amaryllis bulb or two, Voilà, instant holiday decor!

Amaryllis stems are hollow, hang them upsidedown and fill with water for a completely different look. The design possibilities are endless and they make excellent cut flowers to add to centerpices.

We received a special request the other day for a "Floral Margarita". It was a last minute order for delivery the next morning. They wanted a fun, sassy floral arrangement for their friend Ted who was recovering at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina. Poor Ted couldn't partake in the Beach party fun that his coworkers were having but our non-alcoholic flowers helped ease the pain. It made me long for a Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino. Go figure!

Its also a great way to show off how you can sculpt with Carnations and Kermit Poms.

A DIY Centerpiece for our peeps

What you'll need
1 4 X 4 inch square glass cube
glue gun and hot glue sticks
1 rubber band
1 sheet gold foil wrapping paper
Wired floral picks
8 boxes of 5-pack Peeps
8 bunches of yellow daffodils
2 bunches of paperwhites
White feathers
Directions Cover vase with foil paper and hot glue Peeps to vase in rows of 4. Fill vase with water. Bundle daffodils and paperwhites together to create a round pavé. Tie bundle with rubber band and insert in vase. Insert floral picks in Peeps and add to bouquet. Finish with white feathers.
